Megan Tatum and James Halliwell, up for the Best Team nomination in the BSME awards

The Grocer has been shortlisted for two prestigious industry awards.

Its Waste Not Want Not campaign, launched in May 2016 with the aim of tackling the 1.9 million tonnes of food wasted by industry, has been shortlisted for the PPA ‘Great Leap Forward’ award, which celebrates ‘true daring, radical innovation, and outstanding creativity’ by publications.

And its features desk, comprising features editor James Halliwell and deputy features editor Megan Tatum, which has spearheaded the campaign’s development, has also been shortlisted for the BSME award for Best Team, up against the New Scientist, Pulse, Empire and Wired magazines.

The winners of both awards will be announced in June.

Adam Leyland, editor of The Grocer said: “It’s fantastic that The Grocer continues to be recognised by its media peers for its campaigning brand of issue-led journalism.”

The winner of the PPA award will be announced on 29 June. The BSME Talent Awards are on 6 June.
