Premier’s brands have been almost as unfashionable as the shares. And just when Darby sorted out the finances Premier was sucked into the Tesco/Morrisons meltdown. Ditching the ‘power brand’ strategy and investing in new formats for Mr Kipling has pulled it out of long-term decline. Cadbury Cakes is growing too. But the share price remains stubbornly low.
